Tim  &  Giuseppe

Giuseppe Vannucci

Giuseppe grew up in Bellaria, a seaside town in Italy, in between the coast and the mountains. Based in the Emilia Romagna region, it is an area renowned for being the home of great food. For many years he worked in his family run hotel and, like many top Italian Chefs, his passion for cooking originated from home.

Having learnt all he could from his mum, Giuseppe moved to England in 2003 to continue mastering his craft as a chef. He continued his training at the Palace Hotel and also studied tourism and hospitality, which he passed at the highest level. In February 2011, after 20 years of creating the finest dishes, he decided to open Bellaria, named after his hometown where his passion for food was formed.

The restaurant thrived with shining reviews and compliments praising Giuseppe's fantastically creative yet traditional Italian menu.

Now Giuseppe is taking his talents, style and deliciously original menu to the seaside resort town of Weymouth in his new restaurant Al Molo. Overlooking the sea with a panoramic view, it's situated at the pier bandstand on the Esplanade.

The restaurant maintains a top quality menu using the best locally sourced ingredients and combining traditional Italian cuisine with a modern style. Giuseppe has created the menus himself and he always welcomes your comments so please let him know what you think...

Tim Newton

Tim’s first jobs were in the hotel and catering industry.  He worked in hotels in Kent where he grew before moving to Broadway, Worcestershire and Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Where he was a manager in a small privately owned exclusive restaurant. In his early 20s he left the hotel and catering industry behind and after a variety of jobs he was Global training Manager for a large mulitinational organisation.

After redundancy he went into business with Giuseppe and a friend and launched ‘Tim’s Kitchen’ a coffee shop in Battersea London. Serving homemade cakes (by Tim) and organic and free range food. Tim never had any formal baking training although like Giuseppe he was taught to bake cakes by his grandmother and the rest was self taught. I loved experimenting with different cake recipes and people used to come to us especially for the cakes but mostly for my Brownies!
